Louis's Story...
Louis #2330 is a handsome 2-year-old male, Maltese mix. Louis was recently rescued from a hording situation that had more than 100 dogs in the home. He did not have much human interaction; he had to share the attention with so many others. Louis is such a sweet dog and has so much love to give. We are still working with him on the kennel and leash training. He is full grown and weighs 7 pounds. We believe you can always teach an old dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption form, downloadable from our website: http://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoptus.html and return it per instructions. Email dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org with questions. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for adoption event locations and updates: www.facebook.com/lcarmd

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louis, a Waldorf Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Waldorf, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Waldorf.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waldorf already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waldorf breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waldorf paves the way for another one to be saved.
