My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CONSTANTINE
5-10 yo Devon Rex

Constantine is a very unique cat. These are terrible pictures of a fabulous cat. You MUST meet him in person to appreciate this boy. He's only the second Devon Rex we've ever seen in Rescue. He's also declawed and has no teeth. Now we have no idea why he's got no teeth, but it's made it very hard to determine his age. The SPCA didn't want to put him up for adoption because they couldn't tell anyone how old he was. So we got lucky enough to get this very rare and wonderful boy!

Constantine is most likely under 10 years old. We're guessing that he had a bad gum infection as a youngster and had all of his teeth pulled. He's also had some damage to one ear that makes it curl backward. We're guessing an untreated ear infection is the cause. It looks to us as if at some point in his life he was not well cared for.

At this point he's in great health and one of the nicest cats we've met. Constantine has all of the great attributes of his breed. His coat is lovely and tightly waved, he has tiny feet, a delicate bone structure. Add to that an incredible personality and you've got one amazing cat. Even our ladies who love those silly flat faced Persians think Constantine is an awesome boy.

Here's the great news: With no teeth, this cat will never need those expensive dentals! Think of all of the money you will save over the lifetime of this cat. And as a declaw, he'll never scratch your furniture. No dentals, furniture undamaged, with all of the money you save, you can afford to feed him for 20 years. Isn't that how the math works out? Even with his teeth missing, we can look at his eyes and assume he is under 10. There are certain changes to the irises that take place about the time a cat is 10 and they certainly haven't occurred with him. So, we're guessing he's somewhere between 5 and 10.
