Andre is playful, easy going and very friendly with kids, strangers and other dogs.

And he is very smart, he knows the commands “sit”, “wait” and “hands shake.”

Andre and his mother were strays wondering at the country side in a small town. They fed on any food scraps they can find on the streets, drank from the ditch... as a result litters were found skin and bony. A nice local rescue lady started feeding them, thinking to nurse them to health before having them TNR (Trap/Neuter/Release). One day after a heavy rain when the rescuer arrived with food, she noticed something was wrong as puppies were not by their mother's side like they usually did. These puppies were rushed to the vet where the vet determined that they had suffered from severe malnourishment and needed medical attention. Realizing these weak pups can't be released to the road, the kind rescuer placed them in caring foster home where they were gradually nursed to health.

Andre is one of these puppies.
He is now a healthy 7 months old boy, perky, lovable and full of puppy energy. He is social, very gentle with children, adores humans and loves to spend every moment with his caregivers. He is active, playful, always looking for fun things to explore. He is looking for a home with secure fence, a loving family who can spend plenty of time with him and will include him in all family activities.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Andre, a Castro Valley Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
