Emma's Story...
Please CLICK HERE to apply!

Meet Emma! Emma is a 10 year old female GSD. She came into rescue with 9 other GSDs when medical and financial issues prevented their mom from being able to care for them.

Emma is a sweetheart of a girl! She is a retired show dog, and has been in a breeding program for the last few years. She is officially retired now, and looking for the perfect home to spend her golden years in. And we suspect she has many left...Emma is in excellent health and does NOT act her age AT ALL! She's always up for an adventure.

Emma is good with other dogs, but does not like them in her face. We feel she would do best in a home with an older and more settled male dog. She is NOT good with cats

Emma is currently being fostered in Eliot, ME.

Emma is spayed, utd on routine vaccinations, flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention. She has also been microchipped. She must go to a home where she will live inside as an important member of the family.

If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application!

Emma's adoption fee is $275 which includes all age appropriate vet care, neuter, microchip and associated costs.

We do not have a physical shelter, our dogs and puppies are in private foster homes. We do not adopt to anyone under 21.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emma, a Augusta German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Augusta, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Augusta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Augusta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Augusta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Augusta paves the way for another one to be saved.
