My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hobbes is an extremely sweet, high-energy, cuddly and loving, 29-pound, 22-month-old, male Border Collie/Rat Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian.

When you first meet adorable little Hobbes, he seems a little nervous. The funny thing is, he really loves everyone, he just needs to build his confidence in a quiet and loving home. He is full of kisses and tail wags for everyone.

Sadly, he was found stray in the Englewood neighborhood where children were beating him with sticks. Police officers intervened and brought him to Chicago Animal Care and Control. When his original family neglected to claim him, he was transferred to Rain Dog Rescue.

Despite his tragic start in life, Hobbes is a social creature and loves playing with other dogs and getting human affection. He is currently living in foster care with a dog trainer and going to doggie day care twice a week. Hobbes is looking for a loving and active dog-loving home with a canine sibling to play with. Hobbes does well at the dog park - enjoying not only all the dogs, but people too! Hobbes loves going on long walks. He is housebroken, crate-trained and knows the commands sit, stay and down and takes treats gently from your fingers.

Hobbes is very healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm preventative. His adoption fee of $200 benefits Raindog Rescue. To meet and possibly adopt Hobbes, please fill out an adoption application at http://raindogrescue.org/application/ and follow up by contacting Raindog Rescue at info@raindogrescue.org or 773-770-5115.
