Madison's Story...
They call me Madison ‘cause I am grand, dare I say, iconic… know, just like Madison Square Garden. The garden may be the heart of NYC but this Madison is sure to be the heart of your life. I was living at a rescue in CA where I was well loved but not so lucky…months of waiting and still overlooked, so I headed up here for a chance at a new life… I hope you can help! I’m a loving and mellow girl. Kids are cool, other dogs are cool, cats are cool…heck, I’m cool with most things. Well, except cameras. Those little black boxes scare the bajeezus outta me! As you can see, I am carrying a few extra pounds…but that’s no biggie, I just need a daily walk and fewer treats. I’m hoping this will be my shot at true love. I’d love to spend the rest of my years in a real home…can you help? 5 years old-48lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes microchip, spay, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Madison, a Portland Wheaten Terrier/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wheaten Terrier/Chow Chow for sale in Portland, or seeking a Wheaten Terrier/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wheaten Terrier/Chow Chow breeders who help with Wheaten Terrier/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
