Leroy's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Leroy is a 1 year old English Mastiff male.  He is the perfect mastiff speciman, and has the personality to go with it!  He's fun-loving and goofy.  Leroy already knows basic commands like 'sit' and 'potty' - we're working on others.  But he is still a puppy so he will need more obedience training in his new home.  He is very large and doesn't realize his size.  Because of that reason, he will not be adopted to a home with small children, as they could easily be knocked down and/or stepped on and Leroy is quite heavy and strong.   Leroy was passed around and finally given up because he got too big.  He weighs around 120 pounds and is still gaining weight.  English mastiffs grow at least until the age of 3, so he will be even bigger when he grows up! Leroy loves to give kisses and he smiles all the time.  And if you really want a good laugh, turn on the water hose!  Leroy loves to play and chase the water!  (see picture) He is good with other dogs, but too interested in cats, which is why his foster mom is not keeping him!  If you're interested in adopting Leroy, please fill out the application at www.thedeltahumanesociety.com - for specific questions you can email lamastiff@gmail.com

Thanks for your interest in rescue!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leroy, a Rayville Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff for sale in Rayville, or seeking a Mastiff dog from a breeder in Rayville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rayville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rayville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff breeders who help with Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rayville paves the way for another one to be saved.
