Deirdre's Story...
Name: Deirdre
Color: Brown and White Tabby
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Gender: Female
Age: 4 Years
Deirdre is a sweet, cuddly girl looking for a lap to call her own.
Big fan of: She can be a bit chatty when she wants attention and once she settles in for some love, she can drool quite a bit. Deirdre is extremely affectionate and will surely make a great lap cat. This love bug would like a tall cat tree where she can hang out up high when she's feeling solitary and this will also provide her with an appropriate place to stretch and scratch.
Dream Home: She wouldn't mind living with a mellow male feline who will hang out with her and keep her company. Really respectful dogs who don't have much interest in cats and won't try to chase her would also be okay with Deirdre. Similarly, respectful children who won't do too much poking and prodding and carting around awkwardly would be just fine.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Deirdre, a Bellingham Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
