Bentley's Story...
Courtesy posting………………….
Bentley is a handsome black and tan dapple dachshund. He is 2.5 years old, weighs about 18 pounds, neutered and is current on his vaccines. Bentley gets along with other dogs, but, does best with female dogs. He tolerates cats and is good with older respectful children. Bigger dogs intimidate Bentley until he has figured out that they are ok. He is a love bug, and enjoys the companionship of his humans. He especially loves to be under a blanket on the couch sitting next you on the couch. Bentley is housetrained and will whine at the door until he is let out. He will sleep with you, but, seems to prefer sleeping in his crate at night. He plays nice with other dogs meaning he is not overly rough with them. Bentley enjoys leashed walks and is good on leash. Often he goes to his crate during the day to hang out enjoying the comfort of his “den”. He is used to having a human home during the day, but, if he is alone music or the TV is left on for him. Bentley's ideal home will be in Colorado, with a yard and another small companion dog to play with and a human that is home more than gone. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bentley, a Louisville Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Louisville, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Louisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Louisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Louisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Louisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
