My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fred is an 8 week old mix puppy and the cutest thing ever. He is working on house training, sitting for food and treats and cuddling with his foster family. Fred is busy exploring everything he can so his new family will need to be committed to training and supervision. Anything left down on the ground, he thinks is his and off he runs with it. He wants to play rough at times and has learned some lessons from the resident senior 12 year old dog in the home....don't pick on the old guy. However the 2 year old dog lets Fred get away with playing hard, so foster mom is supervising Fred so he can learn what is appropriate play.

Fred is currently being treated for mange so the hair loss on his head makes him look a bit funny, but it will grow back and no one will ever know. In the meantime, Fred is now on good food and medicated shampoo to help him get better. His immune system is getting better each day and none of this has stopped this boy from trying new things. He even has figured out how to get up on his hind legs and drink from the big dogs water bowl!

Fred is looking for a family that will help teach him all the correct things he needs to know as he grows. A family that will need to commit to training classes and crate training as well as walking him and loving him. If you are looking for some puppy cuddle time and a dog that will give you lots of love, then Fred is waiting for you.

Please remember that GRFR adopts puppies to forever families who have sufficient time at home to socialize, house train and nurture their new puppy. Also note: puppies should not leave your yard or be exposed to any other dogs unless you are certain that such other dogs have been fully vaccinated and are older than six months. They should not go to parks or PetSmart or anywhere else until they have their last booster shot, as they could contract a potentially lethal virus. Before taking your puppy to puppy class please discuss vaccination requirements for various classes with your trainer or vet. Puppies often need a few dewormers and we encourage you to discuss this with your vet. For more information, please take a look at www.goldenretrieverfreedom.org. Please review the adoption requirements before submitting an online application.
