Wilbur's Story...
This sweet boy was abandoned in Eastown when his owner moved away. She also never took the time to neuter him. He found safe haven with a neighbor across the street, but that kind man is nearly homeless himself. He actually kept Wilbur in a vacant house, and came every day to feed him for a week. With nothing more than an old mattress and tattered blanket, Wilbur was still happy just to be inside and well fed. It never ceases to amaze us, the lows (animal abandonment by irresponsible people), and highs (nearly homeless man rescues stray cats), we see in the rescue arena every day.

Wilbur is a very sweet, big lug who is very excited to put some tougher days behind him. Be his new family and show him how to live like a king.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wilbur, a Byron Center Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Byron Center, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Byron Center.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Byron Center already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Byron Center breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Byron Center paves the way for another one to be saved.
