Rosie's Story...
Meet Rosie! She is a short haired Chihuahua mix, approximately 3 years old. Rosie is housebroken and loves to pick out her own special spot on the couch, bed to snuggle. She enjoys a little petting from her person while there too sometimes! Rosie is just getting used to the big wide world of noise and movement and is a little shy and unsure of things just yet. She will need a special person to understand her and help her along and like most rescues, will surely repay that love 10x over! Rosie would do best in a home with another dog and is a graduate of a formal training program. If you are interested in Rosie, please submit and on line application at www.henricohumane.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosie, a Richmond Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
