My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET LILY -

Lovely little Lily is a 3.5 year old, 10 lb., longhaired black and tan Dachshund (AKC – no papers). Lily is a little shy around strangers, so she has come to Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. for help looking for a forever family. You see, this wonderful little girl’s human mom recently passed away and there is no one left to care for her. Lily wants us to share with you that she enjoys car rides and has recently learned to walk on a leash, which she is enjoying. Although shy around new folks, Lily is friendly and does well with cats. She used to live with a few and found them to be good company. Lily is spayed and has her shots and is now just looking for a calm, relaxed loving stay at home family to love and cherish her as she will them. Is that you? If so, please complete our Adoption Questionnaire on www.odr-inc.org.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give LILY a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in touch with you within 48 -72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
