Hi! My name is Willie! I am looking for my forever family to scoop me up and take me home. I am about a year old and I am a hound mix. My foster mom thinks that I may be mixed with Lab? I have cute webbed feet and I love the water!!!! My foster mom says that I’m so silly because I like to give her my paws so that she can massage them! I have come a long way since I’ve been in my foster home.
Some people tell me that my story is a little sad. I was found wandering the streets of Brooklyn with two other dogs. We were all very skinny and in poor condition. I was taken to the shelter in NYC. I was very scared there. The loud noises and the stinky smell of the shelter made me cower in the corner. When my foster mom saw my sweet face, she knew that she had to help me. When I arrived at my foster home, I belly crawled on the ground. I wasn’t sure what a home was…but mostly, I wasn’t sure who I could trust. Would I get something to eat? Would I have water to drink? Would I get a soft touch with a human’s hand? Would I be loved? I didn’t know what to expect. Now, I feel very lucky because my foster mom and dad showed me what it was like to be loved!
I love snuggling in my foster mom’s lap! I could stay there all day if she would let me. But my foster mom and dad work, so I spend time in my crate when they are not home. I know that I need to use the bathroom outside (My foster mom and dad taught me that). I adore other dogs! I love running and playing with the two canines that live in my foster home. I even get to go to Dog Days Daycare in Hillsborough to play! Boy do I love it there! They have pools and sprinklers that I can entertain myself all day long with! I enjoy meeting dogs everywhere I go. Since I am a puppy, I still need to get my energy out. I love walks and chasing a ball. Those are great ways for me to bond with my family and to get a little exercise. I would be fine as an only dog, or with a calmer dog that still enjoys playing, but won’t mind my silly antics.
My foster mom says that I have it all…. Good looks, a silly personality, and that I’m the best snuggler around. I’m only missing one thing… a family to call my own. Are you the family that I’ve been waiting for?
