Baron's Story...
Baron is a tiny 7 pound miniature dachshund who is about 8 years old. He is so very sweet and loving. Baron's teeth were in horrible shape when he arrived in rescue and we had to have a dental done at which time he lost all of his teeth. He might be a toothless boy now, but that doesn't diminish his awesomeness. Baron also had swallowed a rock at some point and we had to do abdominal surgery to have the rock removed. His weight went down to 5 1/2 pounds, but he is now up to a healthy 8 pounds. His adoption fee will $300, which goes toward the high cost of his medical care. Baron is a special boy who will need someone to keep an eye on his health in the future, just in case this tiny guy has any more problems. An adoption application can be completed at http://www.OnMyWayHomeRescue.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baron, a Henderson Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Henderson, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Henderson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Henderson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Henderson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Henderson paves the way for another one to be saved.
