HURRICANE is a 1 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 56 pounds. Hurricane is a great pup, he is active and loves to play. If you sit down he will come and sit in your lap where he has an unending supply of kisses for you. He likes to retrieve and had a ball playing with the Wubba when I had him out for pictures. He is a young Lab looking for an active family that will give him some training and exercise. Good with other dogs. Knows some commands sit and come. He pulls some on lead and is better with an Easy Walk Harness. Seems to be crate trained may be house trained as he is keeping his room clean at the kennel. Shelter Evaluators comments: Hurricane is a stray to Animal Control and no one came to get him. He is great dog who loves to play and be around you. Loves to ride. Plays well with other dogs. He is approved for kids 10+.
Update (3/01): Hurricane is becoming a more wonderful companion with each day. He is learning boundaries, commands, and is responding to what we call him...Cain. He has calmed down nicely, but has that puppy playfulness. Cain plays nicely with Missy, our resident lab. They give each other kisses. Our Bichon Frise tolerates him when he tries to get her to play. He shows no desire to jump our fence, but we have kept him leashed due to all the snow. He will be a great companion for someone who will give him the time he needs to settle in, training, and plenty of love. He does get on the furniture if you are there, but sleeps nicely out of crate in his own bed at night.
Update (2/26): Hurricane is a total sweetie and he loves the snow. He needs to put on a couple pounds and he will really shine!
Update (2/24): Hurricane is settling in nicely and has been working on sit, down, off, and stay. He loves squeaky and chew toys. He plays nicely with the resident pups. We are working on his feeding time manners and he gets better every day. He loves to play ball and loves attention. He has the most adorable puppy face. He is excellent on leash and walks nicely without pulling. He loves car rides and is a really good rider.
This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has between 50 ~ 80 dogs available for adoption.
