My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JACK is a 5 year old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 71 pounds. From his foster - Jack is a very happy dog and always has a smile on his face, he has good house manners, doesn't counter surf and doesn't climb on furniture. He walks nicely on a leash. Knows sit and down. He is good with other dogs, but likes to be the center of attention. He should have a fenced yard as we know he will wander off if given the chance. Good with other dogs. Lived with a another lab and a small mix pup. No cats will chase them, no chickens, or small critters as he will snack on them. Knows his basic commands. Foster reports he is good on lead. Crate & House trained. Jack's story- Got a call from one of the vet techs at a Vet Hospital. She told me that Jack, one of her neighbor’s dogs, kept wandering over to her house and stealing chickens. She and owner worked that out but told me Jack was staring to visit other neighbors and doing the same thing and she was afraid that he would be shot which is legal in VA if a dog is raiding live stock. Jack lived on a small farm and was good with the families 5 kids, he was an inside-outside dog inside at night and bad weather otherwise outside. No cats will chase them and obviously no chickens which he likes to snack on but he did bring the feathers home as a present for his owner. Mary told me that he was a very nice dog but wasn't getting exercise or attention at home as the family was too busy. She talked to the owner and they would give him up if we would take him. He is approved for kids 6+.

Update (02/1): From Jack: Don't you want a love bug for Valentine's Day? I'm your guy. I will love you 24/7 and give you plenty of kisses. I've been told that I'm a velcro lab but that's not a bad thing, right? I take treats very gently. I have very good house manners - no counter surfing; no furniture climbing; respectful of your possessions (I'm not really sure why my FM crates me when she's not in the house). I walk well on a leash and am happy to help you reach your exercise goals. I am very tolerant of all of my foster sister's antics and enjoy chasing her around the backyard. I like toys and bones but am happy to share them. All I ask is that you love me back - which shouldn't be too hard, cuz I'm adorable!
