Simon - baby (10 weeks of age as of January 28) - male - Lab/Basset best guess - black short coat with white markings
Simon’s foster mom describes Simon as quite a soulful little fellow - at times he almost seems contemplative, as if he is pondering important thoughts. These moments quickly give way to bouts of joyful tumbling, wrestling and playing with his 3 brothers.
Simon’s thoughts about humans are quite obvious. He offers direct, open and completely full eye contact, and he absolutely delights in being cuddled and held. Since Simon is irresistible, he is always rewarded in his overtures by being held and cuddled, and in this regard, we think he may have linked his endearing facial expressions with their inevitable result - so he is very intelligent as well!
We believe Simon to be a true mutt in every best sense of the word, but for purposes of describing his possible breeds, we are quoting his veterinarian, who saw tendencies of Lab and Basset hound in his background. He has a plush, black coat, and is stocky and short legged. We would expect that Simon will achieve medium size when fully grown.
Simon’s foster family has provided tremendous socialization for Simon, and as a result, he greets everyone, humane and canine alike, as if they are friends. In Simon’s mind the world is a loving and kind place, and he has been instructed to expect good. He has bravely mastered going up and down stairs, and has long outgrown his initial suspicion of the vacuum cleaner.
He is a healthy, happy, and endearing boy, and he will bring joy to his adoptive home.
Hedgesville Hounds requires a securely fenced yard for puppies, and we are not recommending these puppies for placement in a home with children under the age of 10. The $250 adoption fee will cover Simon's booster shots, rabies, and his neuter when he is 6 months of age.
