Hope is one of our newest additions and easily one of our most heart wrenching. She just came to use out of the Downey Shelter. Poor Hope is blind and has an eye infection (which is currently being treated) and has sarcoptic mange. Her skin is red, inflamed, and semi-bald. Hope cannot go to her foster home until she is cleared of the mange and she has to be quarantined at our vet hospital for at least 14 days. She has had many health workups done and we have found that she has an enlarged liver due to infection. We are currently awaiting results from a complete blood panel.

All of the trauma that she has faced has not damped Hope's soul in the slightest. During all of this hospital work and the ongoing pain that she has been in she did not let out one growl or lash out. Hope is our angel, she is only looking to be petted and loved. You can see how badly she wants and deserves a safe, forever home just looking in her sweet blind eyes.

We will not stop helping Hope in any way that we can, but her health expenses are going to be considerable. Please help us help Hope with pledges and donations. She has been handed nothing but pain in her life but her personality and loving nature has never wavered. Help show Hope that there is such a beautiful, wonderful, love-filled life out there for her, one that she deserves so much. Donate to help us get her well and find her forever home. Up until now, her life has been filled with pain, abuse, and disappointment and together we can change that. Join us and help Hope get to a safe and happy place, one that her beautiful, loving spirit has never seen before.

Donations can be sent via Paypal using our email address or via check to C.A.R.E, P O Box 56631, Sherman Oaks, CA 91413.  Please be sure to note on PayPal or your check that this is your pledge/donation for Hope.  Your donations/pledges are tax deductible, so be generous and DO IT NOW to write it off on your soon-to-come 2014 taxes!  We will keep you posted on her progress.  Thanks so much for helping us save this little one!

About C.A.R.E. aka: Cat/Canine Assistance, Referral & Education

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Mission is:

To demonstrate that responsibly managed animal sanctuaries provide a compassionate, humane alternative to the mass euthanasia of unwanted pets.

To provide the dogs and cats in our sanctuary with a great quality of life until their forever loving homes are found, or for life.

To responsibly seek loving homes for all cats and dogs in our custody and provide quality lifetime care to those who are not adopted

To offer support to individuals who have rescued cats and dogs.

To educate pet owners toward more loving and permanent relationships with their pets.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our sanctuary facility is in the high desert - that is, out in the country - in northern Los Angeles County. Visits are "by appointment only." If you are interested in meeting a pet, we make every effort to faciliate your visit and in the past have even brought pets down just to meet potential adopters.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process includes a completed application followed by a telephone interview and a home check. Upon placement, a contract (for the protection of the pet) and a donation of $250 (for dogs and cats) are required. E-mailed requests for an application will be responded to within 24 hours, and once the application is received, a volunteer will call within 48 to 72 hours. At that time, arrangements will be made for the candidate to meet the pet, answer questions, etc.
