found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Roxy was originally bought as a young pup and then given to a friend. The friend loved her and was doing as best a job as he could raising her but with his job requiring him to work long hours, he realized that he just couldn't give Roxy what she needed in the long run. So, he made the hard decision to find her a better home. The owner came to Ugly Mutts because he knows that he will be able to follow Roxy's progress on her Happy Tails page and it will enable him to be sure that she is being loved and cared for in the way he wanted for her.
Roxy is a good looking, tall and regal looking girl. She is eager to please and very interested in bonding with her people. She would do well as a single's companion or as a wonderful family pet. She has been left on her own a lot in her previous home but in her foster home she is coming out of her shell, enjoys playing with the other dogs and adores any affection you will give her. She has not had any formal training and anyone looking to adopt her much be willing to train her in obedience. She is a big puppy and would probably be too much for very young children but would be an ideal choice for older children that were interested in working with her. In the right home Roxy will shine and will become a very confident, capable companion.
Roxy doesn't know much in the way of manners in the home or any commands and she will jump up to greet you but these are all things that any puppy will do and just needs someone that is committed and consistent to work with her giving loads of positive reinforcement, socialization and lots of cuddle time. She is very intelligent and will learn quickly and we felt it was better to get her into her forever home as soon as possible so she can be bonding with her new family, rather than her foster family.
Roxy is crate trained and is clean and quiet in her crate. She is used to being on leash and in the process of learning how to walk nicely. Although she is a bigger puppy, she is still a baby and she needs someone that is committed and dedicated to helping her become the wonderful companion she can be. We would like to see her in a home where someone is there to work with her however she is good when left for a normal working day. She would be great as a second dog but is fine on her own. She would be fine with cats in the home but would do best with dog savvy cats as I am sure as would want to play with them. Otherwise she would need someone to socialize her with the cat so she knows the boundaries. She would not do well with a small dog as she would be far too much for them at this stage.
Roxy is going to be a wonderful pet and companion. She is affectionate, playful, eager to learn and very responsive to her people. She is a sweet dog that has a lot of endearing qualities, is not a guts when it comes to her food and is a perfect age to start obedience training.
If you think Roxy would be a good choice for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
