Buddy's Story...
My name is Buddy and my birthday is August 1st 2012. I am a pure bred Dachshund. I love to cuddle with my foster family and burrow under blankets. It is my favorite place to be. I also LOVE to play tug of war with my male and female foster siblings. We love to chase each other around the house too! I also love to play with toys and chew on bones. I am very sweet and gentle with any children that I have met. I like to bark when the other dogs bark because we like to see who can be the loudest! It is so fun! I have to be careful when jumping or on stairs because of my long spine. I should not be doing any jumping at all but sometimes the other dogs do it so I want to try it too! I love to give kisses to anyone that will give me attention. I love to cuddle and I am so soft that you will love to cuddle with me! I would love to sleep with you in bed at night because I do not like the crate very much. I would rather be running and playing or sleeping with you than be in the crate. I am all healthy because I have been to the doctor and they gave me vaccinations so I would not get sick. I would love to find my forever home with someone who will love and cherish me forever. I am hoping to find my family soon because my foster mom loves me a lot and it will be hard for her to let me go. You should come and visit with me at the pet adoption event. I promise you will love me because I am such a good boy! My adoption fee is $250 to help with my vet care. To apply for me just email Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buddy, a Grand Rapids Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
