Tango's Story...
Hi I'm Tango and I am at Quaker parakeet! My previous owner had to give me up because I was too bold and too comfortable running around on the floor chasing the other animals and she was afraid I would get eaten by the dog!
I am very sweet and love to sit on your shoulder while you work and go about household duties. I step up well from my cage most of the time. My foster mama thinks I have a lot more words hidden away because so far I've only told her "Good boy Tango!" and "Tango! Tango!"
Unfortunately I am on a seed diet and trying to learn to like this stuff called pellets. I really like fresh fruit and vegetables though- especially raisins! I also feel scared of foot toys, but my foster brothers are showing me there's nothing to be afraid of.
Like most Quakers, I may choose one person in the home as my favorite. I also would do better in a home with no children (or older children) and one without other animals (although I do get along with my foster brothers who are also parrots). Will you give me a forever home please???

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tango, a St. Louis Parakeet - Quaker was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Parakeet - Quaker for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Parakeet - Quaker from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Parakeet - Quaker breeders who help with Parakeet - Quaker rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
