Harvey's Story...
We often don't know any history about the animals that come into the shelter. They are either strays or owner surrenders. But they are all eagerly waiting for a loving, forever home. The shelter is always very full and a dog's time can be limited, please act quickly if you want to make him/her yours. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, given a rabies vaccine, canine distemper vaccine, bordetella vaccine, advantage multi (prevents fleas, worms, heartworm). We also microchip all our dogs and provide you with a starter bag of food. Please contact the shelter for more information on the personalities of our dogs. A canine specialist would be glad to help match you with a dog that fits your lifestyle. 989-773-9721 www.hatsweb.org Adoption prices: Puppies (under 6 months) $175, Adults $160

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harvey, a Mt. Pleasant Bernese Mountain Dog/Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bernese Mountain Dog/Bloodhound for sale in Mt. Pleasant, or seeking a Bernese Mountain Dog/Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Mt. Pleasant.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Pleasant already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Pleasant breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bernese Mountain Dog/Bloodhound breeders who help with Bernese Mountain Dog/Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Pleasant paves the way for another one to be saved.
