Maxie's Story...
Maxie was transferred from another rescue group to Friendship. She is a 2 year old Jack Russell mix. She was immediately placed in foster care to help with her socialization. Maxie does not yet know how to walk on a leash and is not house trained. She does know to use puppy pads. She is learning to relax and to get used to being held. The foster family reports that they believe Maxie will be a quick learner for leash training and going potty outside. She will require patience and daily training. It is very important to be cautious when outside, because at this point Maxie is still afraid and would probably run away from---not toward her new owner. This sweet girl is feeling more comfortable and learning with each new experience. Maxie is now at Friendship ready to go to her permanent home and bring the right lucky family a lot of love and laughs.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxie, a Elyria Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
