Teco's Story...
Better take a look at Teco! He's a 10 year old Chihuahua that still has lots of energy. Teco was surrendered to Friendship because his owner went into a nursing home. He lived with her his entire life and really wasn't exposed to much. Teco has spent the last several months being socialized in a loving foster home. He's come a long way but should be adopted into a quiet adult household. He tends to bond with females. Teco has never lived with other dogs or cats. He is crate trained as long as you don't close the door. He gets upset when the door is closed but is fine and will stay in the crate when it is open. He's also a lap dog and will sit on your lap as long as you want if you're petting him. Teco will potty outside but is also paper trained. Please ask for Teco at the front desk if you would like to visit with him. He would love a permanent or foster home.

If you have another dog in your family, please bring them with you for a meet and greet with Teco.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Teco, a Elyria Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
