My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh, you’re here! I’m glad you’re looking at me. My name is Isabella but everyone calls me Bella or Bell. I’m a big snuggles as you can see. I’m a cockatoo and I’m very young, only 5 and half years old. I’m looking for my forever home and I’m wondering if you’re looking for me? I’ve been extremely loved since I was hatched on July 2, 2009. I can talk some and I learn new things fast. Everyone thinks I’m a girl but they’re not sure. I’m an extremely gentle cockatoo, I don’t bite unless you move too fast. When I do get scared, I will put my beak on your hand, but not very hard. I go wild when young people come around and I whistle and dance for a long time as long as everyone stays back from my cage. I like dogs and cats to visit but I don’t want them too close to my cage either – please just remember to keep me safe. I had a bad experience in the shower once, so I’m terribly afraid of water, but I’m working on it with my foster mom and I’m getting better. I’m not afraid of a towel if you move slowly. I haven’t learned to get my nails clipped yet but I’m trying to be good and I will lift my foot when asked but I take it back when the clippers show up. I’m also getting used to a harness so I can go outside. I’m very patient with putting it on and off. I eat pellets, sweet potato, and papaya and a little bit of other stuff, but I’m struggling to eat the green things. We’re still trying and the other night I ate some birdie bread, yay! I am a good eater as long as someone is eating with me. I’m waiting for you to come take me home. Would you like a bird like me? I hope to see you real soon,
Love, Bella
