My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Archie! This beautiful boy is an energetic juvenile recently rescued from a kill shelter in California. He is one of the sweetest and kindest dogs you will ever meet! He has been working with a positive rewards based trainer on basic obedience and puppy behaviors that weren’t addressed earlier. He has quickly learned the commands: sit, lie down, and wait.
This gentle soul loves to give love but is very unaware of his body, so can be quite clumsy at times. He LOVES playing with other dogs. He is learning to enjoy the crate and is hesitant to get in the car. He is getting better every day with the crate and should soon be able to spend time in it when it is closed without being scared. Once he gets into the car he is an excellent passenger and stays in one spot. Archie is VERY intelligent and is learning so fast, but still has learning to do. He enjoys food puzzles and activities that stimulate his brain. He is not a barker. He has been running with us and makes a wonderful running partner on leash.
The ideal home for Archie would have a fenced yard, family members that are home a lot (he is still working through separation anxiety from his shelter days), and another young or active dog for him to play with. He is terrific with kids, but cats are an unknown. This dog will make an amazing companion when he finds a home with the time to continue his training and give him all the love he deserves. He is a true diamond in the rough.
