Black Velvet (BV)'s Story...
Black Velvet (BV) is a mature, 7 year old, Pit Bull lady who's spayed, up to date on shots and ready for a new home. BV is a surrender so we do have some good input from her prior owner. She knows a nice list of commands; sit, stay, come, down and "let's go potty", enjoys full handling and is loving and gentle. BV is pretty depressed right now so not showing her best side but she is easily handled and walks so beautifully at heel on lead I was duly impressed. It's reported she can be reactive to some dogs but tolerates others so if you have others in your pack they should be brought in for an introduction. BV apparently has been around cats and older children successfully. She is reported to have a medium energy level, plays fetch, enjoys playtime and long walks. We know with some time and love this gal will blossom again into a great family companion. BV is available for meet and greets at the rescue any day 11 am till 4pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Black Velvet (BV), a Meridian American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Meridian, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
