My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Shamrock! I am an adorable and distinguished older gentleman. I will be hitting my 9th birthday soon, but don’t let my age fool you. I still have some puppy energy inside of me. Ideally, I would love a home with lots of space to run around, perhaps a farm or a home with a very large fenced in yard. Before coming to rescue, I lived with one family my whole life. Sadly, my owner became very ill and passed away. Since I am older and have only ever lived in one home, I am a bit stuck in my ways. The transition into foster care has left me with a bit of anxiety, which causes me to whine a bit and to be a tad grouchy at time. But hey, it’s hard making life changes at my age! I am used to being the only dog, but I am adjusting to life in a home with other doggie friends. My perfect home would have no other dogs though, so my new family can devote all of their time to me – I am so worth it. I am house-trained, micro-chipped, neutered and utd on shots. I adore children, and my foster mom says I am very gentle with them. I love the 10 yr old little boy in my foster home. Of course like any good dog, I sit outside his door while he sleeps to protect him. I love to be around people and follow my foster mom around the house. I do want to be your best friend of course ;) My foster mom also says that once I feel comfy, I tend to think I am a lap dog and have no idea just how large I actually am! Do I sound like I could be perfect for you? I am an older guy and due to my life circumstances I come with some baggage (who doesn’t?) but I promise to love and adore you all throughout my golden years! Please only send in applications if you are within 2 hour driving distance of Philadelphia, PA.
