Scout's Story...
No need to scout around for a new friend any longer, you found Scout! She's a super sweet 3 year old Dobie mix. Scout was recently adopted by a college student and returned. She did not have enough time for Scout and lived in an apartment. Her former owner reports that Scout was house trained and had manners in the home. She was fine with people of all ages and other dogs but did not like cats. This big girl liked to sleep on the bed and loved to follow a laser pointer. She is looking for a family that will give her the attention and the space she needs and deserves. A dog like Scout would enjoy a big yard to play, not an apartment.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scout, a Elyria Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
