My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Spirit, a 5.5yr old chorgi! This little guy came from a pretty rough background and has been waiting for someone to give him a chance since January 2015. Spirit was saved from the OC shelter, after he was confiscated by animal control from a training facility. Not much else is known about his background, just that he was neglected and scared.

Since being i n foster care, he’s come out of his shell, living as a normal dog, running, frapping, dragging around his favorite stuffie carcass while gnawing away at its last squeaker. Spirit loves to cuddle and makes an excellent walking and hiking companion, staying right by your side, with wonderful leash manners. You’d never know it after meeting him, but Spirit used to be extremely scared, skittish, and nervous about all who approached, not allowing pettings or anyone to pick him up. He’d be great with an individual or family that will take the time to get to know him. He’s gets along with dogs, birds, is indifferent to cats, and loves to photobomb pictures.

His heart was sounding a little funky so he was seen by a cardiologist, where we found out he has Pulmonic Stenosis. Fortunately, this was found early enough where he won’t need surgery and is easily maintained with daily medication that costs less than $10/month. Like most furbabies, he loves a good belly rubbing. He’s waiting for his best friend to come around and give him a furever home. Who’s going to be this boy’s heart buddy?
