My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bear was found living in an abandoned house in rural Lacoochee by a young woman from from Dade City. She brought Bear into her home, bathed him and fed him, but was unable to keep him when she returned to college. The woman contacted GGARR and Bear was evaluated.

His "teddy bear" disposition and quick acceptance of other dogs made him a shoe-in for intake into the rescue.

Bear is approximately 5 yrs old and appears to have a very even temperament. He is good with adults and other dogs. During his evaluation there were several other dogs in a fenced in area near Bear; he paid them no attention. There were also Guinea Fowl meandering around that he paid no attention to either.

He gets along well with other dogs but his rescuers report that he does not get along well with cats. He has NOT been cat tested though. He takes treats gently, knows how to sit and walks VERY nicely on lead. He doesn't object to having his ears, paws or mouth touched.

Bear was discovered to be already neutered upon intake. He was taken to Hayes Towne Veterinary clinic in Hudson for vaccinations and heartworm testing. He will be available for adoption soon. Bear is located in Alachua, FL.
