Facts about Priscilla

  • Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
PRISCILLA has overcome a lot to get where she is today. She may have lived on the streets for a while and was not in good shape when she was first rescued. She had surgery for hernia repair that most likely resulted from a bad pregnancy and trying to push out a litter of pups. She tested light heartworm positive and will be receiving treatment for that. She is current on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She weighs 45 pounds. She is friendly with humans of all ages 8 and above. We have not observed her with children below 8 years. She has a dominant, alpha personality and does not get along with too many other dogs. For this reason, we feel she would do best as an only dog. She did not like her paws being touched or held, however she is making progress with that through training and otherwise, she loves being petted. She is not too clingy but likes attention and affection from people. Her perfect home would be as an only dog with a stay-at-home person or someone who stays close to home but would let Priscilla go with them. She likes car rides and she is energetic for a 7 year old. She needs someone who will take the needed time to teach her some manners since she did live as a stray for a while. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Priscilla if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue to cover part of the cost of the veterinary care she has received.

Our Adoption Process...

In general, there is an adoption fee of $200 which helps to cover the cost of basic veterinary care, age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tests, spay or neuter and microchip. If a dog has required medical care above and beyond the norm, the adoption fee could be higher. Fees are sometimes lower for certain dogs, so please inquire. If we are unable to arrange for volunteer transport for adoptions outside our area, it may be necessary for us to arrange for paid transport at a cost of approximately $140. Completion of an adoption application as well as a veterinarian reference is required. Our online adoption application can be found at www.adoptapet.com/TnDiamonds-in-the-Ruff/adoption-application/. We also have a paper application which you can obtain by emailing donnadeaner@gmail.com or call 330-760-2148 or 731-446-4013. Thanks for your interest in adopting a Diamonds Dog!
