Libby's Story...
This lovely lady is Libby! She is just ten months old and on the hunt for a forever home! We believe Libby has some shepherd ancestry with a little bit of Australian Kelpie mixed in as well. She sure has the spunk of both breeds, but she will also "sit" nicely for a treat and is getting better on the leash daily with walks from our volunteers.

Libby thinks cats are food, not friends, so she would probably do best in a home with no felines. Libby would also do well in a home with a male dog she can play with!

Gorgeous Libby has already been spayed, is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She just needs to find her perfect family! Could it be yours? Stop by the shelter today and meet Libby!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Libby, a Germantown Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Australian Kelpie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Australian Kelpie for sale in Germantown, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Australian Kelpie dog from a breeder in Germantown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Germantown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Germantown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Australian Kelpie breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Australian Kelpie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Germantown paves the way for another one to be saved.
