My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Phoenix. I am a 2-year-old spayed female and I weigh approximately 52 pounds. My friends think I am a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix. Of course it’s just an educated guess, though. There’s no way of knowing for sure without a DNA test, but I think they might be right.

I’m the perfect package. I’m totally adorable, very loving, and always happy! I don’t let anything bring me down. It would be impossible for you to have a bad day when I’m around.

Since I’m still young, I’ll need a decent amount of exercise. Don’t get me wrong, I know how to relax, I’m just no couch potato! An ideal day for me would include a game of fetch in the backyard, maybe some tug-o-war, a get-together with some canine companions, and a belly rub session with my family.

In case you are wondering, I would be an excellent candidate for a dog park. I get along well with other dogs and I really enjoy playing and running around. It would be a great way for me to get my wiggles out.

I have a little background information on myself that I would like to share with you. When I was 3 months old I ended up at a local high-kill shelter. I appeared to be perfectly healthy so the staff put me up for adoption. I was only there for about a week and a half when someone came along and adopted me. I’m not surprised I was scooped up so quickly. I was pretty darn adorable!

I spent so much time with my new family. I thought that we would be together forever, but I was wrong! After nearly two years I was once again brought to the shelter. This time I spent almost a month there. I wasn’t sure if I would make it out alive. Being adopted from the shelter twice isn’t easy to do. I had all my paws crossed that I would get lucky for the second time.

Thankfully, my wish came true! CageFree heard about me and decided to welcome me into their rescue. I was so happy! I knew that they would find me the perfect forever home.

Are you looking for a dog like me? If so, please contact CageFree and let them know you want to schedule a meeting with me. I can’t wait to meet you!
