Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET KOBI
Hi! My name is Kobi. I am sixteen weeks old, weigh 6.5 lbs and I LOVE people! Do you love puppies? Do you have older kids that love puppies? I love older kids too. I just moved here from Merced, California. My mom (a wirehair doxie) and my dad (a doxie/chihuahua mix) were sad to see me go, but told me I am old enough now to make my way in the world. So I packed up my toys in my backpack and traveled north to Portland where Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc took me in. I love to play and am looking forward to finding my new home. I also look forward to school (puppy training) and learning all the things a grown up Dachshund should know. I know I have a lot to learn, but I am quick. One of the reasons I am so excited about school is that I'm also looking forward to meeting and socializing with some other dogs. I haven't had much experience with other doggies or cats. Do you love puppies or Dachshunds? Do you stay at home or work from home and have time to help train me? If you do love doggies and would like to have a little doxie love you, maybe we could meet.
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
Can you give KOBI a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in contact with you within 48-72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
