Lady Bug's Story...

Meet Lady. Our grey muzzled friend here was abandoned at the time in her life when she needed her family most - as she enters her golden years. This 10 yr old was picked up off the streets and taken to the local shelter were we found her. That is behind her now and the only thing Lady wants to do is wiggle, bounce, go for walks and enjoy some good ear scratches. She could not be sweeter and she simply brings a smile to your face every time you are with her because she is just full of light and joy. As much as we love her sweet silver face here at the sanctuary, we'd love it more if we knew she were waking up in a home of her own every morning. Anyone out there have room in their heart and home for Lady? If so, email us at info@shadowsfund.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady Bug, a Lompoc Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Lompoc, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Lompoc.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lompoc already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lompoc breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lompoc paves the way for another one to be saved.
