Peanut's Story...
Little miss Peanut may be small in stature, but is big in personality! She is believed to be between 1 and 2 years old, and was found as a pregnant stray in Santa Maria. She has since had her 5 puppies, all of which have been adopted. Through the care and love of Shadows Fund staff and volunteers, she has grown into a balanced dog who is friendly to all. Check out her video that shows off one of her favorite past-times...chewing a bone..

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peanut, a Lompoc American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Lompoc, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Lompoc.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lompoc already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lompoc breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lompoc paves the way for another one to be saved.
