Sinbad's Story...
Name: Sinbad
Breed: Shepherd mix
Age: Adult
Gender: Male

Sinbad is an adult male Shepherd mix, about 55 pounds, and he absolutely loves the kids. He is a well mannered boy with other dogs, can make friends quickly with them but also does not need them around, so would be fine as an only dog also. He has been fostered with cats and ignores them. Sinbad was an unclaimed stray who came into rescue heartworm positive and is being treated, so he will be good as new soon. He is house trained (did have accidents the first few days), crates for the workday, and is a medium energy very easy going dog who does well out and about. Someone loved him, he came into the pound knowing several commands and tricks.

Requirements: Needs semi restricted activity for 6 weeks following his heartworm treatment

This HHK9 canine has tested positive for a heartworm or tick borne disease and treatment will be done through our vet before an adoption is finalized, so that we can do our part to ensure a healthy happy dog joins your home. Heartworm treatment consists of a 2 day treatment at the vet followed by 4 weeks of restricted activity, and placement timing is on an individual case by case at the comfort level of the foster and adopter. Tick diseases are treated through oral antibiotics sent home with an adopter by the rescue.

You can email with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sinbad, a Minneapolis Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
