My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

03/07/15 Update Did you see that I am getting much better quickly! This is AMANDA and I am almost ready for adoption. My foster family has been giving me loads of TLC and my fur is starting to grow in. I'm just a gal looking for some fun! Check back in a couple of weeks and I will be ready to go home with you!! Adopt@thisisthedog.com

2/5/15 PUPDATE: We can't believe how great AMANDA is doing! She has a non-contagious skin condition called demodectic mange. Sounds scary, but it's not. This form of mange is caused by mites that are transferred from a mama dog to her pups in the early few weeks of life. Some puppies are very sensitive to these mites and lack the immune system to keep the mites under control. A few medicated baths and some medicine and she will be back her to perfect little self in no time! So scary to think what would have happened to AMANDA out by the Air Base had our volunteer not stopped and saved her. Thank goodness we have some superheroes on our team!

2/4/15. Completely different girl today. Only one week makes such a difference. She is so comfortable and sure of herself.
Thank you to This is the dog for saving her and allowing me to be a part of her life

2/2/15 Well here we go yet again. Monday morning at 8:00am. The first photo is Amanda the day she was found. Amanda (affectionately named so because it means worthy of love) was seen dumped by a person just north of Homestead near the Air Base. She is in horrible condition as you can see. We will treat her skin condition and find her a home, eventually.

Donations are critical to our existence -- they help us to continue rescuing these animals and to make sure that they are healthy and properly socialized before being adopted. Thank you for considering a rescued animal from This Is The Dog!. To donate www.thisisthedog.com
