Darjeeling - Adopted 08.25.15's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hello, my name is Darjeeling. I'm about 1½-2 years old.  I used to live outside and one day I decided to walk up to a human, I was really lucky to have picked a really nice human who happened to volunteer for The Kitten Nursery!  She rescued me and my baby, Lady Grey. I let her pick me up and cuddle me.  The people at The Kitten Nursery aren't quite sure of my past, but based on the way I act, they think that I used to have a home and one day I lost it.  They think I have been outside for a few months, so right now I am a little nervous, but I'm still a nice girl.  Let me tell you a little bit more about my personality.

Because I am still a little unsure, I like to hide quite a bit.  But please don't let that deter you from adopting me.  I also like to lay out in the open and I am happy to be cuddled.  I especially like to have under my chin stroked!  Right now, my foster parents are trying to show me again what it's like to be loved by humans.  They don't know what I saw during my time outside.  Like I said, I am a very nice girl and just want a chance.

I am what you call a ¾ cat. I am full grown but VERY tiny.  You would probably think I am only a few months old. I'm not skinny or anything like that (trust me, there is a constant flow of food where I am now!), I just have a very small build.  I am currently in foster care with my baby that is 4 months old. Her name is Lady Grey.  We can go together or separately, we love each other but we would do alright with humans of our own too.  We both like other cats, I'm not sure if we like dogs or not, I haven't met them, but we can find out if need be!

I use my litter box, I have not had any accidents, I'm a really good girl.  I also use my scratching posts and pads. I am already trained for you!

I think I would like a quiet house where I can come out on my own and explore.  You can pick me up and cuddle with me, I will stay with you on your lap.  I really like cuddles.  Because I'm nervous of new situations, I am likely to be overlooked, but please consider me.  I truly am a good girl and in the right home I will come out of my shell even more!  I just need a good human to show me that everything is going to be ok.  I just entered the rescue not long ago, my foster parents will update my profile as things change.  They have no doubt that in the near future my fear will be gone!  The Kitten Nursery has adoption events at Soldan's in Okemos almost every Sunday from 12-3pm.  I'm not sure when I will be there, but you could go and meet some of my awesome kitty friends!  If you are interested in me, please contact Kelli, kelli.grazi@yahoo.com, who is my foster mom. She can answer any more questions you may have and you can set up a time to come and meet me to see if I would be a good fit for you. Please consider giving me a chance, you won't regret it! I hope to see you soon!

Love,

Darjeeling

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darjeeling - Adopted 08.25.15, a Williamston Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Williamston, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Williamston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Williamston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Williamston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Williamston paves the way for another one to be saved.
