My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Annie is Adopted

Annie is currently with a temporary foster near Nashville TN, and her adoption donation/fee is $250

Annie is an adorable little black female cocker spaniel mix. She is on the smaller side at 21 lbs, and we aren't sure of her exact mix, as she was found as a stray.
A Good Samaritan found this girl in the middle of the road in pouring rain, and took her in.
She had her looked at by their vet, and she is estimated to be about 18 mos old.
Annie is such a sweet girl, she is well tempered, and beautiful, house trained, and gets along well with others. We just can't imagine how someone isn't looking for her, but all of the methods to find the owner were done and no chip was found in her.
She is currently fostered near Nashville TN, however we are able to have her transported up to ohio when foster space opens up here.

Annie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and is now micro chipped.

Annie’s Story from the people who found her

We live in the country in Marshall County, Tennessee and many dogs are dropped out here when the owners get tired of them..In late November this little Black Cocker was hanging around our house and I was going to take her in and she disappeared. Two weeks later in the pouring rain my husband and I were coming home from town and there she was again standing in the middle of the road this time. We stopped and picked her up and went straight to our Vet's office to see if she had a chip. She didn't, but they kept her overnight, gave her a bath and clipped her because she was so matted and dirty, and the next day I picked her up and took her to the local shelter. I put up posters around our area, and the Shelter put a stray hold on her for three days to see if anyone was looking, but nobody showed up.

Now the Shelter assured me that they only euthanized 2 dogs in all of last year but on her paperwork there was a date for euthanization that was in 2 weeks. Well I was totally freaked out about that and after the 3 days were up I went and got her out of there.

We took her back to our Vet and got all of her shots, found out that she had been spayed and that she was heart worm negative and is now on preventative monthly meds, and in general in excellent health. She has been very well taken care of in the past obviously so you would think that someone would be looking for her. Vet estimated that she is about 18 months old, and her teeth are in great shape. She weighs 21 lbs. She has been living with us ever since. She is totally house trained and she has loads of energy, loves to be outside chasing the birds. She is a really a great little dog.

Now about us. We are a retired couple in our early 70's and we have 2 Shetland Sheepdogs. They are old like we are, lol! One is 11 and the other is 9 and we find that having three dogs is just too much for us. My husband has Multiple Myeloma which is a bone cancer, and he has his good days and bad days and we feel that this little dog needs someone who can give her the attention that she deserves.. She is so sweet and loving that I know she will be someone's great companion. We know nothing about the Spaniel breed as we have always had Shelties but they seem to have similar traits. My male Sheltie is a dominant male and she seems to be a dominant female but they are tolerating each other. I have seen no aggressive traits in her at all, so I think she would be okay with kids.
