My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chi-Chi-Marie! Boy how we love this little girl! And lucky for you, she's looking for a home to call her own!! Great size and just the right amount of energy.

Chia loves to go for walks and hikes. She's excellent on a leash and VERY smart. She learns very quickly and knows her basic commands. House-trained. Good in a crate. Not a barker, but she is quick to alert you when someone's at the door. . .such a plus! Lovely girl.

Chia loves her human and will follow him/her everywhere. She's more than happy to run errands with you. So well behaved. Loves to be pet and sit in a nice warm lap, but also likes to chill in her dog bed. Excellent with kids.

Chia's good with other dogs, big and small. A proper intro is of course important to get everyone started on the right foot. Lately she's been spending time with another 15 pound female Chihuahua, an 11 pound male Terrier mix, a 30 pound male Australian Shepherd mix, and a 65 pound male Border Collie mix. The Border Collie is definitely the alpha of the bunch and sets the rules for the home. She initially wanted to set her own rules, but quickly adapted and is fitting in nicely with the pack. (A couple of growls back and forth, but the two of them worked it out.) She's spent most of her life living with other dogs and finds a way to fit in, but she does have a tendency to chase cats.

Chia is also good by herself. She's being fostered as an only dog and doing great in an apartment. No destructive behavior. She just chills until you come home. She'll sleep in a crate at night, but also loves to sleep in the bed with you. Either way, she's happy.

Chia is a Chihuahua mix and about 7 or 8 years old. Calm energy. She weighs about 15 pounds. She is spayed, up-to-date on her shots, and ready for a new home.

Not sure you're ready to commit? How about a trial??? We are always looking for fosters. You supply a temporary home and some love. . .we supply everything else! It's a great way to see if you're ready for a full-time companion. Call or email with any questions. Thanks!
