My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: All our Cupids are fostered in private homes. An approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Say bonjour to Jolie!
Jolie means "pretty" in French, and it suits this three-year-old, 18-pound beauty very well. She arrived to Canine Cupids in rough shape -- this sweet girl had cigarette burns that are now healing, and her fur is growing in nicely. It's soft and silky, with a little bit of a wave to it!

This adorable girl recently became a mama, though she was not found with her pups. Through all this adversity, Jolie remains a happy girl. She loves belly rubs, snuggling and being near her humans. She is crate-trained and sleeps quietly through the night. She loves playing with her canine foster brother, but also can entertain herself with toys. So far, squeaky toys and balls top her list of favorites!

Jolie does need to work on her doggie manners (who would have thought coffee tables weren't for standing on?!), but her foster family says she's a quick learner and listens well. She's also working on her potty training. Her foster reports that she may do well with "doing her business" while on walks, so her ideal forever family will have potty bags handy! Keep track of Jolie's adventures by visiting her foster mom's blog at http://katiesfosterpups.blogspot.com/.

Jolie’s adoption fee is $200 and she’s located in Milwaukee, WI. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
