My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coco is a special guy!

He's a nice medium size with a beautiful markings, definitely a mix of maybe Lab/Shepherd/something else adorable. He knows how basic commands, gets along with other dogs, and doesn't seem that interested in the cats. We received him as a quarantine dog after he bit his owner. He was left at Animal Control when his quarantine period was over. He was super stressed in the kennel environment and obviously didn't trust any of us. After lots of hot dogs we were finally able to walk him and let him around other dogs. He will bite when he feels threatened, and needs a warming period with new people. Due to his history, we do not recommend him for a family with children, or to a household with a lot of visitors. He spends most of his days out on one of our play yards with 3 or 4 other dogs, both male & female. He enjoys his walks, and likes to play. Anyone interested in Coco Pops should plan to come out for several visits before considering adoption. Be sure to ask one of our experienced volunteers or our Animal Control Officer to introduce you to Coco Pops.

Born Again Pit Bull Rescue regularly works with the wonderful people at the Del Norte County Animal Control located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a coastal city on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can’t come outside and play.

We want you to see some really great dogs that they have in their care--it's just a 2-hour drive from Medford to adopt your new BFF!

Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday & Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.
