Dean's Story...
~ adoption fee applies please email ~

My name is Dean! I was rescued from the streets of Lac Simon, Quebec by some very kind volunteers! They scooped me and many other stray doggies up and brought us back to Montreal in hopes of giving us a better chance at life. That is where I met CAA Rescue and my new foster family.

When I first arrived into foster care I was pretty shy and standoffish but it did not take more than 24 hours for me to be curled up with my foster daddy watching TV on the couch - once I realized what a couch was and that I was allowed up on it!! :).
So please if you come to visit me and I am a little shy with you do not take it that I do not like you; just watch me with my foster family and you will see for yourself just how friendly I can be once I feel confident and safe.

I am absolutely doggie friendly, as in foster care I have pugs as friends. I particularly care very much for one of the shier pugs who was also rescued by my foster mummy; she had a very hard life and is a special girl. I feel very compelled to take care of her … CAA Rescue wonders if it is the underdog in me that understands the underdog in her! Or maybe I am showing the signs of a perfect service dog for those needing an extra special hand in life. I guess only time will tell! But there is something very special about my nature and willingness to care for others

I also live with kitties in foster care and have no issues

I have not been tested with any children and while I have a very shy and gentle nature CAA Rescue wonders if a household with rambunctious children would be too much for me at this time in my life so they think children only the age of 10 years and older who can understand and be respectful of the potential hardships I may have faced in my past life would be a better family choice for me.
I show no signs of anxiety in the home when left alone; seriously I am just a happy good boy!
I am housetrained and like to do my business outside where I have always done it.
I show absolutely no signs of aggression or possession with people or other dogs
I am a smaller sized boy compared to some of my other Nordic brothers as I am only about 45 lbs. I will need a family to invest some time with me on basic obedience … remember I was a stray from the street so the words “sit” or “stay” really mean nothing to me. This does not make me a bad dog; it just makes a dog that no one ever spent any time with. No one ever loved this dog! For the first two years of my life all I did day in and day out was fight to stay alive, scrounging for scraps of food and trying to stay away from the mean people and dogs who would want to hurt me … creature comforts of being pampered and trained were just not in the cards for me. But I am a good dog! I promise to try hard at anything if you are by my side showing me and making me feel safe! Consider me a blank book that together you and I can paw the chapters of my life together; filling me up on glorious adventures and day to day snuggles! I am a snuggler!
If you are looking for a best friend and promise to always love me; if you are reading my story and know that it is me that is missing in your life and that I am the one that can make your heart complete please email and ask them for an application for adoption. It is a few questions and it will take no longer than 20 minutes to complete but once you do that we can meet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dean, a Pierrefonds German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Pierrefonds, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Pierrefonds.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pierrefonds already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pierrefonds breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pierrefonds paves the way for another one to be saved.
