My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~ Adoption Fee Applies – please email caarescue@gmail.com ~

My name is Banjo and I was rescued from the streets of Lac Simon along with many other stray dogs… one of those dogs just so happens to be Dean also with CAA Rescue in foster care. Some very kind volunteers scooped me and Dean and many other stray doggies up and brought us back to Montreal in hopes of giving us a better chance at life. That is where I met CAA Rescue and my new foster daddy.

While my name is Banjo to tell you the honest truth they should have named me Panzer! I am like a mini tank! My body is big and strong with these short little duck legs :) I am very adorable to look at and extremely stunning in person! My golden brown fur is really spectacular in color and my deep dark soulful browns eyes will have you melting for me!

Even though I am short I am a mini powerhouse weighing in at 70lbs!

At this time I am pretty nervous with all the changes in my life; while I am a complete love bug to humans and especially love my foster daddy very much I should not be around other dogs at this time. While the volunteers at CAA Rescue believe this is a temporary thing because when I was at the shelter before coming into foster care I was with many, many other male dogs and never once did I have an issue. So I think all the changes in my life are just overwhelming for me and until I learn to completely trust my new forever family I should not be in a home with other dogs, off leash and never ever in dog parks!

And while my name is Banjo and should have been Panzer it could very well have been Shadow because I love to follow foster daddy where ever he goes; no more than nose length distance away from me is he ever. I like my foster daddy a lot and I like my walks but I will need leash training because right now it is less of a walk and more of a let me drag you down the street at lighting speeds kind of walk! So YUP I need someone experienced enough to train me on the leash and strong enough to handle me if I should decide to head off in an opposite direction because if I do decide that you will have to follow me. I am just that strong!

Currently I show absolutely no signs of separation anxiety when left alone; no barking, crying or destruction in my foster daddy’s home whatsoever

I do my business outside where I have always done it; so completely house trained.

And while my name is Banjo and should have been Panzer it could very well have been Shadow it probably should be Sherlock! I am a Mini Mr Investigator and Inspector! I must sniff every new place upside down and inside out to give my seal of approval. When you come home from work I will have to sniff you upside down and inside out. I am very curious and completely inquisitive. It is a wonderful characteristic that you will only truly understand when you meet me!

I love tummy rubs and snugglebums! I have the perfect energy to chill quietly at home doing nothing with you and the right amount get up and go to head outside for some fun in the snow.

I have not been tested with any children and while I have a very shy and gentle nature CAA Rescue wonders if a household with rambunctious children would be too much for me at this time in my life so they think children only the age of 10 years and older who can understand and be respectful of the potential hardships I may have faced in my past life would be a better family choice for me.
I will need a family to invest some time with me on basic obedience … remember I was a stray from the street so the words “sit” or “stay” really mean nothing to me. This does not make me a bad dog; it just makes a dog that no one ever spent any time with. I am eager to please my humans and really only want to make them happy so I am sure I will learn fast and before you know it I will be a perfect canine citizen! I just really need someone out of the city, with a back yard, and some doggie know how!

I was initially tested with cats at the shelter and was listed as friendly but there are no cats in my foster home so CAA Rescue cannot guarantee how I would be with any cat in a home

If you are looking for a best friend and promise to always love me; if you are reading my story and know that it is me that is missing in your life and that I am the one that can make your heart complete please email CAARescue@gmail.com and ask them for an application for adoption. It is a few questions and it will take no longer than 20 minutes to complete but once you do that we can meet… maybe go for a drag race around the block… umm I mean Walk – A Walk around the block :)
