My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tucker is an 8 year old lhasa male with white and brown coloring and weighs about 20lbs. Have you ever heard of “lhasatude?” Well, Tucker has lhasatude! He is typical lhasa in that he will watch you for a few days and figure out whether or not he will allow you to be a part of your world. However, he is an easy sell when someone gives him treats. Tucker was surrendered to St. Martin’s when his mom had to go to an assisted living facility and could not have him with her. No one in her family was able to keep him and we were told that Tucker does not like small children, which is typical for lhasas also. We were also told that Tucker will chase and bark at cats, but he has not done that in his current foster home where the cats live inside. He would probably chase and bark at outdoor cats. Tucker walks okay on a leash, but does pull some. He is a curious little boy and does like to go for car rides. He is housetrained and crate trained. He is up to date on all vaccinations, is microchipped and neutered. We were not able to have his teeth assessed because he did not like the vet at all so when taken to the vet, he will need to be taken slowly with a patient doctor. He did well at the groomer, though. He came to us with flea dermatitis so it is important that he have flea control year round to keep his skin healthy and keep him out of pain. He will also require regular grooming because of his long hair. An ideal adopter for Tucker will have to earn his trust and love, but it will be worth it because he is a nice little dog with a lot of energy and love to give. If you would like to know more about Tucker please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com and ask for an application. His adoption donation is $150.00
