Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stewart is a 2 yr. old, 16 lb. Jack Russell Terrier / Dachshund / Beagle mix. He was found, filthy and shivering, in the trash area of an apartment building. He seems pretty much housebroken and is good with cats and other dogs. He is not aggressive, doesn’t bite and gets along well with cats and dogs. He seems to be more comfortable with women than men. He was a little uncertain of new people at first but is warming up by the day. He has responded well to a strict schedule and is much more confident even since last week. Stewart just wants to be loved and is affectionate. He is accepting petting more readily and is even instigating it. He has couch potato energy. He showed many signs of having been physically abused (flinching, cowering, shaking, trying to make himself invisible) but he is now settling down, less fearful and starting to show leadership qualities while leashed. Initially he panicked when the leash appeared but he is now when his foster dad tries to put his leash on but he will walk on leash. He may have been in some scraps with bigger dogs. Right now he needs an experienced, patient, loving owner and a home with no small kids. He is a diamond in the rough and we feel he will come blossom if he has a stable, loving environment. He's a work in progress and his progression is positive and ongoing.
