Sadie is a Standard red Piebald/Dapple Dachshund-Beagle mix weighing about 25 lbs. She is a super cute dog with big eyes, and a great coloring/coat pattern with Cleopatra eyes (she has permanent eye liner on her beautiful eyes; we’re so jealous!). She is a sweet, loving and affectionate, people-oriented girl who loves to play and give kisses. She is a happy dog with some spunk but is also quiet and well behaved. She knows her name well and comes when she is called. She knows basic commands. She loves people and likes to hang out in the same room that you are in. She walks well on the leash and rides well in the car. She gets along with other dogs, big and small, male and female, however, her first love is the humans.
We rescued Sadie from a Los Angeles shelter back in September of 2009. She was adopted shortly thereafter. Everything was going well until her owner needed and received a lung transplant recently. Her doctors have informed her that because of the immune suppressing drugs and the seriousness of her condition, she can no longer have furry pets. So now, sadly, at the young age of eight, Sadie has come back to the rescue. Sadie has many years left and she is so deserving of a loving home. She has moved from place to place like a champ, and has stayed affectionate, sweet and loving so we really hope that someone will give her a chance at her final stop – a forever home!
Sadie would be fine with middle school and high school kids. She is crate-trained, house-trained and very healthy, spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She is ready for her new home. If you would like to meet Sadie, please contact Dena at (562) 694-6868 or email Dena@SCDR.org. An adoption application and home check are required. Sadie’s adoption fee is: $150.00.
